Istrios Village

Municipality of South Rhodes
Population: 485
85km from Rhodes Town

Istrios is a small picturesque village in the southern part of the island. It is situated amongst olive groves, lemon trees, pinewoods and vines, and offers complete serenity. A big square outside the doors of the tabernacle of Saint Merkourios welcome all visitors to the village and the local taverna / cafeteria is always open and ready to serve anything from Greek coffee to the tastiest of traditional dishes.
The open land area all around Istrios is a shelter for wild life and it is protected by the European Network NATURA 2000, and for those who enjoy walking and hiking there are a lot of paths and things to discover, such as the hidden waterfalls in the area known as Kipolistis.
