Kalithea - Faliraki Resort

Municipality of Kalithea
Population: 702
12km from Rhodes Town

Faliraki is situated on Faliraki Bay, on the north-eastern coast of Rhodes. It is one of the oldest and largest resort areas and is still a primary seaside resort on the island. Faliraki is known for its 5km long sandy beach and numerous water sport facilities. It caters for all the family, ranging from water sports, cafeterias, night clubs, restaurants, all types of extreme sports, go-carting, shopping, Luna park, little train ride, quiet beaches, busy beaches, relaxing bars, busy bars, and of course the largest Water Park in Europe. The area is famed for its hotels in all classes ranging from large 5* luxurious complexes to small, friendly, family-run concerns. The list is endless, and comprehensive!
Once famous for its wild nightlife and uncontrolled drinking, Faliraki has cleaned up its image and although still a popular place for a great night out, now balances the resort with a harmonious mixture of family fun and cosmopolitan trendiness. If the centre is too touristy for your taste, do not hesitate to get off the beaten path and try one of the unspoiled sandy beaches, a great location for children as the water shelves very gently into the sea and there is little fear of very deep water close to the shore.
