Rhodes Island

Written by Tim Ross
What an incredible place. Rhodes offers almost any kind of holiday you could want. If you want peace and quiet, youíll find it on Rhodes. If you want activities and night-life, Rhodes has got it. If you want to explore history and culture, that is there too. The island is clean, the locals are very warm and friendly to tourists. English is spoken everywhere and most signs are in English too.

Pefkoi Beach

Admire the pine trees towering above the village as you swim at the small but beautiful beach, in front of the hotel village named, appropriately enough, Pefkoi (pines). This is a relatively low-profile resort village consisting mainly of small hotels, rooms rented by groups from England, and summer houses belonging to residents of Lindos. These are the people you'll meet on the sandy beach, since coming here to swim if you're not living on the spot is no easy matter: the roads are a veritable labyrinth with many dead-ends, and parking is a serious problem. You'll find all you need on the central streets behind the promenade, ranging from a mini-market to a pharmacist's. (56 km from Rhodes town)
