Kastelorizo Island Excursion

Duration 9 hours
Full Day escorted excursion by coach & catamaran boat

You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Kolona harbour. The boat departs at approx. 08.30 for the trip to Kastelorizo which is the Aegean's easternmost island. The duration of the trip takes approx. 2 1⁄2 hrs. It is a tiny but very beautiful island of the Dodecanese consisting of a circular port surrounded by traditional Greek style houses. Even though the island has very few inhabitants, they are all very hospitable and you will be greeted with a warm welcome.
There is no organized tour in Kastelorizo, but you are free to explore the island on foot, take a swim, have lunch and enjoy the local cuisine.
Your escort will provide you with a walking map of the island and notes to visit the site where the Oscar awarded movie 'Mediterraneo' (1991) was filmed.
Optionally, you can take a local boat trip and admire the dazzling blue colour of the blue sea 'Cave of Parasta' or 'Blue Grotto', which is the most famous attraction of the island. (Not included in the price).
The boat departs from Kastelorizo at approximately 16.00 hrs returning to Rhodes port where our coach will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel after a thoroughly enjoyable day!
