Nice port visit from cruise ship

When I went up on deck of the Costa Concordia early in the morning to get a look at Rhodes, I was surprised to see the walls, turrets and castle around the city. It had a Disneyland-look I didn't expect. For a cruise

Archangelos - Massari Village

Municipality of Archangelos
Population: 931
42km from Rhodes Town

The village of Massari is located on the south eastern coast of Rhodes Island; it is a very unassuming little village which is set in lush, green vegetation just off the main road. There is very little tourist activity taking place, and the village hangs onto its traditions and cultures. A few rooms-to-let signs can be found, but this is a village you would stay in if you were only looking for complete quite and calm. The monastery dedicated to St John and the monastery of Kameiri from the Byzantine period give some interest to the village, and its spectacular bell-tower is a focal point. As well as its acres and acres of citrus orchards, of which Massari is renowned, there are hundreds of olive trees and the village is surrounded by pine and cypress trees. Thus offering the visitor an abundance of hiking paths and days out.
