When I went up on deck of the Costa Concordia early in the morning to get a look at Rhodes, I was surprised to see the walls, turrets and castle around the city. It had a Disneyland-look I didn't expect. For a cruise

Kamiros - Mandriko Village

Municipality of Kamiros
Population: 239
45km from Rhodes Town

Mandriko is situated on the western coast between Kalavarda and Kamiros Scala. It is a small village which produces almost 30 % of all vegetables for the whole island, and from the road passing through, you can make out a large number of green houses and agricultural fields. Inside this charming village you can enjoy a slower pace of life, and the sunset views from here are absolutely breath-taking. A small square with a cafenion, and church dedicated to Saint Lucy can be found, and in the evenings many of the locals will sit back, sip on their Greek coffee of glass of ouzo, play tavli and discuss the more important village issues.
