When I went up on deck of the Costa Concordia early in the morning to get a look at Rhodes, I was surprised to see the walls, turrets and castle around the city. It had a Disneyland-look I didn't expect. For a cruise

Lindos - Lardos Village

Municipality of Lindos
Population: 1,212
60km from Rhodes Town

A busy and lively village in the south eastern part of the island. Village life canters around the square with a fountain built by the Italians during their occupation, which stands as a centre piece in the village. Famous for its traditional-meets-modern style, Lardos offers all the facilities you would expect in a modern holiday destination, yet keeping all the cultural aspects of village life alive.

Cafeterias, cafeneions, taverns and bars are usually busy day and night, this is a charming village and you won't help but feel welcomed and immediately at home in this spontaneous village.

The church of Aghios Taxiarchis is hidden in the older part of the village and is specially noted for its impressive bell tower and tall cypress trees crowding the courtyard.
